The three shows were stupendous, and "strike"/clean-up was completed in only two hours (then we enjoyed yummy pizza)! Many thanks to all who contributed to Sunday's efforts!
Each show had its highlights, from Marissa's incredible improv to the fish school's swimming prowess to the Cat & Fox's harmonies to the Limo's enthusiastic entrance to the transformation into (and out of) the ocean and shark tummy ('thar she blows!), to the wild and delightful opening and closing scenes. And, of course, everthing and everyone in between! You have done a magnificent job and should be totally proud of yourselves! :-) And can you believe we put it all together in just two short weeks? wow.
DVDs are almost done ... blast those 'technical difficulties'! I will contact you to set up delivery or pick-up arrangements. Should all be figured out on July 4th. We are very very very sorry for the delay!
The staff is meeting this next week-ish to determine plans for next year's show ... stay tuned, there will be more "Adventures In Acting" next June!!
I hope that each and every one of you had a great experience ~ I know the staff thoroughly enjoyed working with you all, and is looking forward to new adventures in 2008.
Have a wonderful rest of the summer and school year, and always remember the potential of pinecones!
:-)

YOU DID IT!
Tonight was the first performance, and it was fabulous! Your voices were awesome, the audience could hear the lines (and they laughed ... a lot!), the dancing was right on -- Hedonia and the ocean transitions went off without a hitch. What fun!!
Tell everyone not to miss it ~ truly you're putting on a top quality show that is great entertainment. Assure them - - there are "no strings attached" to the fun they'll have! :-)
Two more shows tomorrow, Saturday. You need to be at the theater by 1:45 for the matinee (curtain at 2:30) and 6:45 for the evening show (curtain at 7:30). Don't forget the cast party after the final show, and then "strike" on Sunday starting at 10:00.
Whee!

Thrilling Thursday!
Great job! Thanks to all who reviewed their lines last night - today was much better! Don't stop there though -- check all lines again tonight (several times) to be sure they're in your brain accurately.
Tomorrow we'll have our final Dress Rehearsal, so come ready to warm-up and dive in!
Friday night is OPENING NIGHT! whee! Do you know what time YOU need to be at the theater?? And from there we're on twice on Saturday with our celebration party after the evening show (and dressing room clean-up).
This is going to be a fabulous weekend ~ you've worked really hard to make YOUR show a tremendous success. Now enjoy it!
:-)
Hooray for YOU!

What a Wednesday!
You've got to love tech-days that go so smoothly! Thanks for your attention and patience as we sang and danced with varying levels of lights ~ from oodles to absolute darkness!
Tomorrow is "dress rehearsal" which means after warm up you'll ALL be getting into your black bottoms, colorful tops (be sure to have your camp shirt!), and whatever else you need. Then we run the whole show, pretending we have an audience. Yes, we might stop and re-do, but we'll try to keep it going.
Tonight = PRACTICE! Carefully re-read & re-learn each of your lines and movements and song lyrics to be sure you're still doing them accurately. We had Waaaaaaaaaaay too many dropped and missed lines, so check yours!! :-) hmm, sounds like what I said yesterday ... did you do it??
"No Strings Attached" is really going to be a great show! I'm VERY excited!!
Now, check that script, drink some water, and go to bed! :-)

Terribly Delightfully Tremendously Tuesday!!
Wow. Wow again. What a great run through today!
This is going to be some fabulous show ~ tell everyone you know, 'cause they're going to be upset if they miss it!
Thanks for turning in your bios, they'll become part of our Lobby Display. Virtually all black shoes & pants, etc have been boxed up ready for you, so that's good too. Aren't the costumes just incredible!?! We spent this afternoon after camp working on focusing lights, hanging the GIANT screen for forest, Hedonia and ocean backdrop (many cudos to Courtney for her diligent & cheerful assistance!), organizing props, and more . . .
Tomorrow, Wednesday, is our "tech day" when we figure out just what lights & sounds happen just when, what props go where, and other "technical" details. Thanks for your patience!!
Remember to treat yourselves well ~ lots of water, sleep and healthy food.
PLEASE, EVERYONE READ & CHECK YOUR LINES CAREFULLY! There were (oh dear!) too many dropped lines, missed cues, and forgetting what comes next. This is the time to consciously check your lines (someone else reading with you to check is great), being careful to re-learn them accurately and practice them several times!
See you tomorrow!

Another Marvelously Magnificent Monday!
You all ROCK! Keep working on those lines, upping (is that a word?) the flow and your energy -- this is going to be an incredible show!!
Today was truly magnificent, thanks for your hard work to nail the Hedonia blocking, and then a super run through of the rest of the play. Sure, there are lines to remember (who, me??), steps to practice (yes, you!), and all sorts of blocking to get just right. YOUR JOB is to rehearse the play in your head, physically moving your body how it should be walking/dancing/moving to solidify everything. Then sleep. Truly, that helps you learn things! :-)
Tomorrow we will do an official "run through" from start to finish! WHEE!! We'll also incorporate most of the incredibly cool props so you get used to what has to be where when and how heavy it is, etc.
Wednesday is "practice your patience" day when we figure out all the technical details that make YOU look fabulous on stage. Some of you will also be in costume, but only a few. We'll be focusing on things like lighting your faces and not just your toes, when to start the music, and how fast the curtain needs to open and close. Yup, important stuff!
Thursday you'll ALL be in costume! FUN!! It's our first Dress Rehearsal (second one on Friday), so be ready to Put On The Show!
In the mean-time . . . Stay Healthy! Drink LOTS of water, eat healthy foods and Sleep Lots. Go to bed at least an hour earlier than normal ~ you need your energy! So why are you up reading this?? Should you be in bed??
:-)
See you tomorrow!

Superb Saturday!
You're tremendous! After wending our way through a variety of scenes (Go Bug Chorus! Hooray Fairy Chorus! Kick up those heels Donkeys! Fights in the Forest, etc!), keeping occupied with theater craziness for in-betweens, we started our first run through. Amazing! It went very smoothly (OK, so Hedonia still needs some logistical practice - we'll get it!), and I'm thrilled!!!
The staff stayed to move curtains, legs, arms and other theatrical stage pieces into position, and Sunday is more costume & set creation ... then Monday we're off again!
We'll likely review Hedonia in the morning (you saw that one coming!), catch some other scene or movement tid-bits and then dive into the rest of the show.
So, what can you do this weekend? Rest! Relax! Don't yell! Read through the script, and see if you can list the scenes in order, knowing where YOU are, how YOU move, what expression YOUR face should have. This is where those little details of exact hand placement or facial angle become critical.
Also, keep spreading the invitation for people to buy tickets. They're selling well at Rice's Pharmacy, so don't wait too long if you care where your seats are!
Monday will be here soon ... and we're off for our final push to the performances this weekend! You're doing SO WELL ~ it's going to be a fabulous show!!!
:-)

Fantastical Friday Flew By Fast!
Can you believe we're ready to run through the whole show? You've worked SO Hard this week, staying focused and theatrically active ~ and we've got a great production going! Hooray for Pinecones and Hooray for YOU!
Tomorrow is Saturday rehearsal and we'll review a few scenes and then dive into the whole thing!
Remember to:
complete the biography questionnaire
bring in your black pants & shoes for Corey to check
bring in your ocean blue top if needed
spread the news of our great show to your friends & neighbors and remind them that tickets are available right now at Rice's on Kings Blvd, Corvallis.
SLEEP
EAT HEALTHY & DRINK LOTS OF WATER
and ...
... of course ...
PRACTICE! :-)
See you tomorrow!

Thursday was Fun!
We worked through so many many scenes ~ what a delightful and flexible group this is! We're actually ahead of schedule (if such a thing can be possible in a two-week time frame), and are headed to our first run-through on Saturday. That's a REALLY GREAT day!!
I'm trying to get all pictures up on the web, but am having to create different galleries since evidently each gallery is limited to 100 pictures (and we've taken waaaaaaaay more than that!). So please hang in there while I maneuver things around...
Go to bed early!!! Two more days this week ~ whee!
- - - - - - - - - - -
Wending our Way there on our Wonderful Wednesday!
We made splendid progress today ~ from figuring out how to maneuver our humongous Hummer stretch limo around stage to changing marionettes into donkeys to keeping donkeys out of Fannie's BBQ to learning how to "fill the space" and act in s l o w m o t i o n ... besides our normal singing, dancing, blocking and general delightful theatrical chaos!
Whew ~ it's no wonder we're tired!
Tomorrow we'll dive into our ocean scenes (you'll love the water effect and being fishies!), our Boy Bug Chorus will create some choreography moves, and YES, we'll get to see what the Frightful Forest holds for our intrepid Peg, Paul & Sparky! (Intrigued? I hope so ... just wait until Thursday!)
Many thanks to those who stayed this afternoon to block some more scenes. The Blues Fairy Singers look and sound fabulous, Pinocchio has been introduced to his conscience (you'll laugh at how Carly gets "on stage"!!) and also figured out some of the final scenes, when Pinocchio donates his income to help Mary Annette - awwww.
Go PINECONES!!

WOW! Tuesday was Terrific!
You are all tremendous! It's already the end of Day 2 (how did that happen?) and the play is really taking shape! You're doing a fantastic job remembering all the blocking, singing out with gusto and dancing with vigor. Remember to drink LOTS of water and get LOTS of sleep!!
Tomorrow (Wednesday, 6/21) we'll drive (literally) into Hedonia with its many intricacies, all while trying to steer our mammoth stretch Hummer Limo around the stage! Should be hedonistically amazing! :-)
Thank you to all who helped with ourPaint-the-Set-Session today after camp. The transformation from muslin drab to wonderful colors is delightful. Keep tabs on our photo display to see what other adaptations make their way into or onto our set design.
Stage-craft is an interwoven tapestry ... while some were busy on stage, others were being fitted for costumes, learning lines, practicing songs, or exploring character development with theater games, etc. We've found that theater learning is awfully diverse and FUN! There are props to be built, sets to be painted, costumes to be sewn, lights to be set, programs to be written, and even more. We will try to expose the actors to as many of these facets of theater as we can.
Remember that you need to be "off book" by Friday, so keep reading through and reading through and ...
Thank you very much for all the parental support both at the theater and at home. We're sure YOU know the songs already too, and we appreciate your on-going patience and encouragement. :-)
See you tomorrow!
